April 28, 2014

We asked Cameron for some of the miracles he has seen on his mission so they could be shared in a lesson at church. The list is quite amazing and is just a smattering of those blessings Cameron has seen. He comments with each letter the blessings of the most recent week.

We are so grateful for the tender mercies of the Lord in pouring out blessings upon him as he serves the good people of Los Angeles.

Hey,

I heard that you wanted some missionary miracles to share with seminary...

here you go:
1) an elder talking to a 16 year old girl about her music taste outside her home. a month later, baptized.
2) A family, los vega, are both not working and have major health problems and want to be baptized, but can't as they don't have the money for a marriage license, so a member in another ward finds out, and buys their marriage license. Later another member finds out that they need help to go and get the hermana's birth certificate translated, and runs them all over LA, and they get baptized.
3) Our English classes. 3 weeks ago we gave 0 church tours and got 0 new investigators (not good at all) fast forward to 2 weeks ago and we give 7 tours and get 4 new investigators off it, and on the following class we get 8 tours and 8 investigators. Last week, a guy walks into class after seeing the signs for the class on his way home from work, and we end up touring him, and invite him to be baptized. Turns out he's a member who lost his record and membership stuff, and was baptized about 10 years ago in a pueblito outside of Guadalajara and left the church shortly thereafter, he is coming back to church.
4) I get assigned to this ward, Inglewood 2nd and we have a rather normal bishopric. Fast forward a transfer and we get assigned a bishop who loves missionary work, and actively wants to help us in our labor. Right after we get a new WML who said and I quote "if you need anything, let me know, I'll get it done," also "if you want to do it, and the bishop is for it, I'm completely behind it" So refreshing.
5) Going to visit a LA members house and check to see if their daughters we baptized, and finding a non-member there who accepts baptism in the first lesson.
6) An investigator was living in Washington and lost her ID (I know, noob move). She has since been trying to get a new ID, about 8 months now, and last Friday she got it, and now they'll be getting baptized in the next 2 months, ideally the 28th.
7) the Lord softening the heart of an investigator, and changing her. A year ago she got dropped as she was about to divorce her husband, fast forward a couple months, and she shows up a church one day, fast forward another couple months and she's baptized and planing on going to the temple.
