April 28, 2014

All,

Happy day, I pray that y'all're well, and enjoying the last remains of spring, as it's ending soon, high on Thursday here, 98! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad that we have an ocean breeze to keep it cool, as it gets really hot here.

Good news, I am staying in my area...yeah! and my companion is staying too. It's really weird actually as it is the first time it has happened for me but I am pleased to be staying with Elder Howlett. We have too much work going on right now for either one of us to leave.

We did really well again this week and are still working with the 30 contacts from last week as well as some new ones. We actually taught most of our investigators again. we have started pruning the people we are working with as it is really hard to work with more than 15 investigators and some are showing less interest. This is a good problem to have - i will take it!

I'm also pleased to inform y'all that the work is moving forward adelante, as we have confirmed that our baptismal dates are al listo ("ready") to be baptized, by the end of May, so we'll have at least 3 baptisms this coming month! Yay!!!!!!!!! People who aren't flojo!

I must say though, I'm coming to realize that the flojoishness is rather universal, and the only way to overcome it is to just man up and do it. the catch is that most don't want to do it.

That is the joy of the gospel and having people actually keep commitments, they actually change, and become better. They choose to overcome the flojoishness inside of them and segir cristo.

For example, a RC (recent convert), Jason, is 28, he's been living with his mother since he was born, and prior to the gospel, he had no ganas (desire) to ever leave his mother, and now, thanks to our help in giving him  5-year plan, he wants to leave his mother, and start his own family, as well as get his GED, and barbershop training. So cool, as it's a complete turnaround from 3 months ago. The gospel literally changes people.

The only catch and disheartening side is that sometimes the members get past feeling. For example, the Mxxxx  family has a daughter named Britney, who's baptismal record is missing (fairly common in this ward actually). They were highly concerned about this, understandably, and then they say that they're going to come to church to fix it. 3 weeks later, they still haven't come to church. So Flojo! Don't give into the flojoishness. It's not worth it.
Here's the rundown on the rest of my investigators
Willy Gxxxxxx.: cunado of the Munoz family, won't come to church, and therefore can't progress
Los Gxxxxxxx: just need to get married, and then they'll get baptized by the end of next month
Oscar Exxxxxxx: he's solid, just waiting till the 18th to baptize him with his cousin, a member named vale
Los Hxxxxxxx: Just trying to contact them
Los Pxxxx: Just taught them L1, have intrest
Los Sxxxxxx: Have taught them several times, and they have a lot of interest, but they are really really hard to contact. But they want to learn.
Dora Dxxxx: She's so flojo, but she has potential, but she doesn't want to do anything. It's so frustrating. She's Jason's mom.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the Week.

Que Dios Os Bendiga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(May God Bless)

C
