All,
Happy day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pray that y'all are enjoying the first vestiges of spring in your various viviendas (homes/areas)!
As to me, life is good here in the "greatest place on earth".
This entire week as been great, although it had a rough start, as one of the elders in the ward fell off his bike, and ended up under a big rig, and sprained every muscle in his left foot, but he's already walking w/o crutches, so he'll be fine. As a result of this, we lost the car, as he can't walk, or bike (@ least according to the podiatrist).
But it all worked out, as we smashed all of the previous numbers of this area, as we got 10 new investigators and a total of 23 lessons taught this week (an insane number). The Lord has been good to us and it is fun but crazy busy.
In addition to that, we had interviews with president this week, and he told me that he's watching my area, and knows the fact that our numbers keep going up, and he likes it. In addition to that, president told me that he trusts me, talk about a confidence booster, the most successful man I'll ever know, as well as my ecclesiastical leader, told me that the trusts me, and knows the skills I have, and is committed to using them for the betterment of the mission, and those therein, (unfortunately, I think that means leadership)
But, to quote whoever it was, "take what you may and love it." As it'll all work out in the long run, God is at the helm, and he knows what he's doing.
Now if only those in Latino culture would get on board with that, and stop saying they'll come to church "Si dios quire" (If God wants). I just want to shake them, of course God wants you to go to church. Just stop being flojo and come to church/read/pray/other compromise (commitment).
But, I'll take that part of the culture as those who come to church tend to not be so flojo.
In other news, I'm going to Home Depot to buy a chili de arbol plant. They're so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although most of the gueros (wear-os) reading this will disagree with me. But the kick they have is so good. Actually here's a little tidbit about Latino culture, only Mexicans actually eat chili (generic word for something spicier than a jalapeƱo) They also can't seem to understand that there are spicier things than a habanero. But whatever, I'll take whatever chili they give me.
Here's the rundown of the investigators we are working with:
Baptismal Dates:
Los Gri.: need to get married, should happen this month
Oscar Esp.: 10 year old boy, who have family that are members, told us he wants to be baptized.
Willie G.: Just waiting on an answer to if the Book of Mormon is true. He likes the Book of Mormon, just needs to do his homework
Progressing investigators:
Dora Dam.: Needs to stop being floja, and read, she likes church, she just needs to gain a testimony.
Los Sol.: new family we found from a referral. They agree with everything we said, and wanted to read the Book of Mormon. I feel they'll get baptized
Other Investigators:
Los Her.: just found them, accepted a return appt. We'll see where it goes
Los Car.: just found them, accepted a return appt. We'll see where it goes
Los Cah.: we're probably going to drop them as they are not progressing
Los Iri: Flaked on recent return appt. Will visit again.
Los Esc.: Flaked on recent return appt. Will visit again.
May God bless y'all as you labor for Him!
