Happy Day!!!
Hope that y'all're feeling as great as I am. I'm a bit sore, and tired, but
I feel great as we just spent an hour and a half playing ultimate as a Zone.
That game is really tiring. But, fun, particularly as we had the bulk of the
zone there. Yay!
However, I have news! Starting tomorrrow, I am going to be an english
teacher. We, the missionaries are going to be taking part in a program called
LA English which teaches conversational English. We are responsible for the
intermediate class, YAY! We get to try to teach English, Tomorrow we get to
teach about the zoo with an emphasis on how to correctly say "th" as
there is no sound for it in spanish. I anticipate a rather large headache, but
that;s the price we pay no? It's already reaping dividends though, as we have
already had several people come up to us and ask if were the English people and
then commited to come. so we have ~6 family groups commited to come so far from
la jungla. I'll take it.
I also realized I might not have been clear enough, I had no problems from
the 10/22 riots. It was a joke to me, as the people want to eliminate police
brutatility by establishing a police state, I see a disconnect there, do you?
Brett: I anticipate a copy of your talk by the way. same to you matthew. (they are both speaking this Sunday in sacrament
meeting)
But, that's not what y'all're intrested in, what y'all want to know about is
my investigators.
Los V---: They have found a notary, at least that's what the RS Pres said,
she's kinda leading that now. We just have a person waiting in the wings to
actually notarize the doc when we get there, but it's a work in progress. I'll
take it.
R------: She's about the same. Doing what she's supposed to, and sigueinedo
adelante (moving forward).
However, we've started to teach her kids, and they're accepting the message
rather well, well enough that two of the 3 (A---,17 and D----,11) have accepted
baptismal dates for the 1st of December. The other (J----,12) is also
intrested, however he was sleeping during our last lesson so we couldn't really
do much with him. We're going to teach them the restoration later tonight. Yay,
folleto time!
To my boys: Keep going, keep pushing forward. Remember the words of Elder
Holland "Salvation is not meant to be a cheap experience. We all need to experience,
at least in part, the suffering the Savior went through is the garden of
gethsemani." The price we pay is worth it, as the price was already paid
by the best man to walk the earth. We just need to push forward through the
pain, suffering and problems to "fight a good fight" and therefore
have "a crown of righteousness laid up in store" It's worth it. I
guarentee it. After all. "I'm a man of my word. Hehehehehehehehehe"
(joker)
Wow, that's a lot of rain (we told him
about the 8 inches we had last week), I bet the garden is loving
it, as are the weeds. They're always there, courtesy of living in a fallen
world. However, I'm liking the fact that I can stand in an ant line for a while
and not have them bite me, I've done it several times. However, I still
remember the bane that fire ants are. Fun huh?
However, I agree, it's important to change, as it is changing that we become
better, however in doing so we need to remember that it's normal to fall in the
process. And why do we fall, so we can learn to pick ourselves back up. Failure
is a learning experience.
In other news, I renewed my temple recommend, and while I was waiting in the
mission office for my interview, I looked through a book of paintings of Christ
and I found a picture I've been looking for since I was 16 at EFY, Forgiven by
Greg Olsen. It's my favorite picture of Christ. I highly encourage all to look
at it. It's wonderful!
Also, the next transfer is Tuesday next, where did the time go? It's
slipping through my fingers like water, no me gusta (I don't like it). I'll send photos next week as I don't
have my camera on me.
Love Y'all!
C
Elder Wilson
