Morning All,

Happy last week of October, amazing how time flies isn't it? I've almost finished my first transfer already. Oi Vey!!!

Oh well, nothing really to report this week, aside from the fact that there was a riot in my area, although I wasn't there for it as I was on splits. All that ended up happening though was that Crenshaw was sent home at 6:00 and everyone else was put on notice that when and if they saw something going down, they needed to go home ASAP. But, it's all good, as it didn't develop into anything, and life was back to normal the next day.

 

Brett, felicdades en assistiendo al templo. I said it before, and it bears repeating, Go TO THE TEMPLE!!!! There is safety there, and you leave endowed with power over the adversary. Go!!!!!!!!!!! Also, make sure you do sealings at least once before you go.

 

However, I have news that kinda negates that, apparently b/c the governement is shut down, there are no visas coming through, and therefore all foriegn missionaries are getting reassigned. We got 3 brazil people in this transfer who are visa wiaters, one of which is going to rio, yay!

However, our success in crenshaw has been limited, as we find people who are interested, and then we/end up dropping them as we cannot get a hold of them, we've done that to all of the new investigators we have found thus far in La jungla. Incidently, we named the parts of our area, and the formal jungle, that northwest corner is now "the narrows" as even the cops don't go there.

As to our investigators, it turns out that los V--- have the birth certificates that they need, they just need money to go to a notary/ a notary who will do it for free. Care to help Sister Herrera? ;) However, they are still firmly comitted to baptism, so I'll take it, as the waiting only makes the EXP sweeter.

As to R------, We have good news and bad news, Good news: she can get baptized, as her boyfriend said yes. Bad news: she isn't married, and her boyfriend, spouse/ whatever you want to call him/ is completely against getting married, and refuses to do it. However he is a practicing catholic so we can work with him.

Also, if you ever need to bash J-W about the bible being closed via revelations 22:4 (?), simply turn the page to their dates the books of the bible were written and show them that the gospel of john was written after Revelation, they have no response. Also, go to Deut 4:2 and show them that is says the exact same thing, so all we have is the torah, as everything else was added on. They have no response. It's fun. I did that twice this week.
