May 26, 2014 - Summer is coming to Los Angeles (as is Elder Ballard)

All,
Happy day and happy memorial day! May you remember the purpose of this day, as all of y'all love this country at least as much as I do! "cause there ain't no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA!" And we need it, as this country is going downhill fast.

That much is evident from the fact that we are enjoying all of the summer crime wave here in the heart of S. Central. Police birds now circle overhead every other day. But the work goes on, thankfully. Although I'm not sure how much longer I'll be enjoying inglewatts, as my gut says that I'm getting out, and if my luck is bad, as my gut says it is, I'm going to be a desk weenie for the next 6 months. yay, office elder, just what I don't want.
But, I've done a good work in Inglewood, this area has turned around, thanks to a lot of hard work, and new ward leadership, that is the greatest miracle of all, as the leadership has done a 180 turn since I first got here, they are actively working to try and make the work move along at an accelerating pace, it is so refreshing. I am so grateful for the gospel and the changing hearts here and with me.

Another great thing that happened is that we managed to baptize 2 people yesterday, and because one of them didn't have records, because she was 8, and her mother was a member, she was a convert baptism. Yay! Numbers!!!!!!!!!! It's all about the numbers as numbers allow us to fulfill our goals and bring about the Lords work and bring many to Christ, which is why we are called to invite all to come unto Him and enjoy the blessings of repentance and of His gospel.

And yes, I have left my coat behind, actually, we aren't required to wear a suit at all, except to meetings and church, so nice, as jackets are so restrictive and annoying to work in, no offense to anyone who wears one, but not my cup of tea. I like freedom of movement, as it is the most comfortable.

The rest of my life right now centers upon prepping for E' Ballard's visit next Sunday, as he'll be instructing the whole mission, and it'll be so good!!!! He is the most instructive apostle in terms of missionary work at the moment, so it's great that he'll be instructing us, and allowing us to learn from him.

Also, the grimaldos have committed to getting married by the 3rd week in June so they can get baptized on the 29th, yay! finally, they'll have been investigating the church for a year solid, so it's about time I must say.

We also are getting ward missionaries, and even better, they want to work with us! It's so cool, We are so blessed to have great ward missionaries.

As a side bar, yes, James 1:5 is very important, actually, President Benson said that verse existed so that Joseph Smith could find it and usher in the restoration.
Yay random bible/church trivia!

Be well all!
C
