All,
Happy day,
and a happy belated Texas independence day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh,
Texas I miss you so...... and I pray that estais bien pue (these well may).
To those of
you who are wondering, my finger is fine and healing well, and it looks like it
might not even scar over, which is a mixed blessing, but whatever.... I'll take
it. It should be
healed by next Monday, but it looks fine, and no complications have come up,
thanks to the Keflex they gave me.
Por mi
parte (for my part), all is well, as least as well as can be expected all things considered,
just trying to acclimate to the new house we live in. it's actually half a
house, but it's all good. The house is located a tad to the west of the
intersection of 110th and Yukon.
The nice thing and annoying thing is that it's wood tile and linoleum throughout so it echoes and is hard to keep clean but it looks good. It also makes praying hard, but it's a new apartment, only 5 months old or so, so I'll take it, and with gusto, particularly as we effectively live w/ members as it's their house. they are from Argentina, but are named the Normachenskney's (it's Russian so I'm not 100% on the spelling), they go to the Centinela 1st ward, which is in English and the hermano is the clerk. yay! clerk! He was really concerned about the need for converts to make sure that their records match who they are, and the spelling and names are exactly right, as apparently there are some problems in that regard, but I wouldn't know.
As to the
work in the area, our only real push at the moment is to get caught up
contacting referrals as we're a tad behind (about 10) and then stay caught up as
it's so easy to fall behind on referrals, and the referrals are the ones who are
the most prepared to listen to us as they are actively seeking to improve their
lives and come to an English class that's in a dedicated house of God. they can
feel the spirit permeate the building particularly when we take them on a church
tour.
The only catch to the tour is that the building we use is rather suckish for tours as there's no font, and the only pictures we have of Christ are Mary and Martha, and the Lord Jesus Christ. There are none others and the library doesn't have anything either. But we make it work, and we should be having our first LAE baptism by the end of the month so I can't complain, as that'll keep president from shutting down LAE, the "primary finding tool in Spanish". If they shut it down, my life'll get a lot harder as we'll go back to tracting and formers, which are a lot harder to use and get results from.
Aside from
that, we are just trying to keep the recent converts in the area active as 2 of
the 3 converts in this area last transfer are currently less active, a travesty
if there ever was one...but that's
the life of a missionary.
We're trying to serve the ward leadership. The problem is that there is not really any way for us to actively serve them as we only see them on sunday and need president's approval to go outside our area where they all live. Oh, the only liderazgo in the area is the SS president, but we make it work, particularly as he loves to feed us.
If someone
could send me a map of Mexico, with all the states and major cities on it I
would be eternally grateful to them as I'm really tired of people telling me
where they're from and me not knowing where it it.
May the
lord bless y'all in all y'all do!!!!!!!!!!!

I love hearing about the everyday work going on. It is so nice that you are getting fed as well as that you are able to get so many referrals. What a blessing! You sound so happy and content with what you are doing and I am so excited for you to be on your mission! Take care! We love you and pray for you often! Happy Day! Love Aunt Teesh
