All,
Happy MLK Day. I am emailing from a
clerks office as the libraries are all closed and there is no way I'm going to
pay 6 bucks an hour at an internet cafe.
Anyway, the work is progressing well here in
figuroa. We're jsut trying to keep working to keep elder cisneros from being
trunky, as being trunky is unacceptable for me.
Elder Cisneros
I am here to work, so work I
shall. And working we are. Francisco is so bomb. We went and taught
his the Plan of Salvation on Thursday and he said 6-7 times, "that's right", and after, he
said "I'm not going to miss my baptism." So cool. Then when we went and taught
L3 on saturday, he basically
taught it to us, as he read the folleto 2x and did the additonal study at the
back. He's so bomb. He's also reading 2 chapters of the Book of Mormon daily, and has been
sober for 19 days. 2 more days and he's broken the addiction. He avoids the desire to
drink by reading and praying. He's so boss. He also came church yesterday, and
thoroughly enjoyed it. He also reads the gospel principles and
teaching of the the prophets of the church. He took some music from a baptism,
and tried to sing the songs, but he couldn't, so he reads them instead. So
Beast.
He's what keeps me going.
Aside from that, we really don't have
much as our other investigator, eduardo, was hospitalized for his psychosis, so
we haven't seen him, although he should get out of the hospital today. We'll
see.
And Fabian, our last baptismal date, was
training at subway all last week and was to busy to see us, irritating, but
understandable. All we've done with him is teach L1, so he doesn't understand
our message fully yet. That will come.
Aside from that, we put up many LAE
fliers, and contact LAE referrals, but they are always "busy"and therefore, can't
talk to us, and when they aren't busy, they hide. Oh well, price we pay. They
aren't elect. The elect will come, franciso is one of them. Now all we need is
his family...
Interviews are quarterly. Last
week was interviews actually. President asked me what I felt I needed to work on. I
responded charity, as I have a vested intrest in the people, but I don't love
them, and that's not acceptable. I asked him how I can do this better because I want to have that charity. He said I should try and channel my love of
something I love, reading for example, and apply it to something else. He does
it with fly fishing.
Also, fake it tell you make it, and ask
someone who's loving and charitable why the are so loving and charitable. I've
asked Bishop Jamison.
But that's the week.
May the Lords richest blessings be
poured upon y'all's heads,
C
Elder Wilson
And ye shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free.
