Hello All,
It's true, I am cursed, I will never ever get rain (we told him about the recent rainstorms...we have not seen rain in many months).

I have successfully arrived in the CLAM, and did not have any issues with the arrival, although, on of my suitcases did not get on the plane I was on and as a result, I was a bit frazzled about it until I retrieved it later that day. Didn't think I'd be returning to the airport that quickly. It made me majorly "trucky". Whatever.

Anyway, I am in an area made famous by Guns N Roses, The jungle. When I was here last it was called the jungle, and was then renamed crenshaw. However, everyone still calls it the jungle. The boundaries of my area are La Brea, MLK, western and slauson, where we spend the majority of the time in the NW corner, which is close enough to walk everywhere. It's very convenient. However, when we go to the eastern part of the area, we bike, and I am currently borrowing a bike from an Elder in my district who is named Elder Piangee, who is from a small island off the coast of Madagascar, where they speak french. He is not my companion though.

My companion is Elder Martin, who coincidentally is from Dallas. Texans, we are everywhere. Yay! He's been in the Jungle since febuary, and will probably be there through the end of the year. Crazy eh?

Anyway, my area has one single defining characteristic that sets it apart from anywhere else I've been in up to this point. In the past week, I've seen 4 white people, maybe. It's all blacks. The entire western side of the square that is the majority of my area is full of black people, no Latinos, just blacks. It's fun. I feel so out of place, I don't belong there, there should be black missionaries here. But that's life.

Anyway, The work here is progressing well, or at least it was before Saturday. We had a baptism slated for this coming Sunday, however, that fell through as her, husband didn't give her permission to be baptized, as he is hard core catholic, have fun with that Brett. We have another family,

The (----) family who are slated to be baptized soon, however, they need to get married first, the problem is that they cannot currently afford a marriage licence as the hermano is out of work b/c he is medically disabled. fun times, he took a chair to the back of the head, and his brain hemorrhaged. He cannot work for the next 6 meses, mas o menos.

To complete the happy picture, one of the people in our barrio, barrio sexto, had a relative kidnapped in guatemala. The ransom is 3 mill. Her name is (----) Sister R. Please pray for her and her family. Thanks.

On a happier note, one of the members of the barrio gave us a shoebox full of sports cards from the early to mid 90's. I will be sending some of them y'alls way soon, probably friday afternoon, as I found out today that all of the stamps I have are in the flat rate box I send to myself. Yay for good planning.

Also, I found out the day i'll be coming home, the 2nd of June 2015, so if my plaque could reflect that I'd greatly appreciate it.

I am using my spanish use it every day. However, the area is a base black area. It's amusing as I have never been in the minority this much. Fun times.

I am happy to be back and all of the people who I knew from when I was here last time are also glad to have me back. It's refreshing.

In other news, a member of the seventy will be coming saturday for zone conferences - Yay!

C

Best,

Elder Wilson
