Dear family,
During this week, My companion and I taught blasphemy in one of our lessons. Here's what happened: My companion and I were explaining repentance. In church if you commit a grevious sin, you need to talk to the bishop before you can recieve forgiveness. The bishop acts as a judge in isreal, and lays out what you need to do to recieve forgivness. however, he does not grant pardon, only christ can do that. We taught the investigator/ person we were teaching, that the bishop can take upon himself the authority of christ and pardon sin. Fun isn't it? I thought I was just teaching what is correct doctrine, and my companion didn't catch it either. I love the language barrier.
I also heard a really great cita yesterday: "where did the wisdom, get lost in the knowlege, where did the knowledge get lost in the information" piensan en este para mi, brett y taylor. creo este es un bien cosa para vosotros.
I also got to watch the christmas day devotional from 2011. It was on the Charactor of Christ, which simply defined it: "turning out to serve when the natural man inside all of us would have us turn inward." It is such a great thing as, Elder Maxwell said, "Without the Charactor of Christ, there would be no Atonement" The Atonement is literally The Charactor of Christ, which in turn is Charity.
Which in turn is my whole purpose right now. I am to demostrate charity and love towards others by fufilling my purpose. That is missionary work. It is Charity, and without it there is literally no point. as accourding to one of my teachers "no one cares how much you you know, until they know how much you care." That is my job. To love others, whuch is kind of annoying as I am not the most loving person. However, I know I can change as I know of the atonementm and I know that I can change. That is my purpose in going on a mission, to change myself and allow myself to become what God would have me be and help others to do the same.
Os Amo,
C
P.S. Please send me more ties, I am bored with the ones I currently have, also expect un carton from me within the next 2 weeks of MTC detris, and books, and planners and such. Enjoy looking into my life as a missionary
